Project Type Two Piece Garment
This project in Specialty Markets involved designing a functional yet stylish outfit for a young refugee. Creating a white linen raglan button-up adorned with gold sun pins on each shoulder, paired with durable brown duck canvas pants. Thoughtfully crafted to be versatile; suitable for school, work, and dressing up; balancing practicality with detail. Beyond garment creation, the project extended into styling and creative direction for a conceptual photoshoot set in a gothic academic environment, emphasizing structure, sophistication, and the resilience of youth navigating new spaces.
Skills Demonstrated: Functional design for diverse settings, material selection and coordination, styling, creative direction, conceptual photoshoot planning
Takeaway: This project strengthened my ability to design with purpose, creating versatile, functional clothing while also highlighting individuality, resilience, and style.
